Reds Johnson
Serial entrepreneur and author, was born and raised in Bridgeton, New Jersey. Her sincere passion for writing derived from a personal and devoted relationship with literature, leading her to pen her first novel at the tender age of nine years old.
Since then
Reds has written and published over fifty novels and short stories, with her “Silver Platter Hoe” series being her most successful. Her favorite part of writing is expressing her creativity through her words, while at the same time using her imagination to highlight relatable topics for her readers and society.
In 2016
Reds’ author portfolio landed her two magazine features; the first one being Strawberry-Lit Magazine in which she aimed to inspire those wanting to write, and her second feature being in Urban Tymes Magazine in which she spoke about her past with domestic violence, and also being raped and molested. As a product of her hard work and dedication, Reds captured the interest of award-winning publisher, Wahida Clark, and was offered a publishing contract with Wahida Clark and her literary empire Wahida Clark Presents Innovative Publishing. In 2019, she went on to further be featured in Ace Magazine in which the late Nipsey Hussle graced the cover for BET weekend. More recently, Reds was featured in Pretty Women Hustle Magazine for their 2021 issue and Mo’Shine’s Souvenir Magazine 2021 issue.
Along with her literary career
Reds Johnson is a dedicated business woman. Her fashion line “Tilted Crowns: The Elevation of HER” where Reds cultivated the saying, “Your crown may have been tilted a time or two, but it will never fall”, was created to highlight womens’ inner worth to reflect in their outer beauty. As a serial entrepreneur, Reds holds the title of CEO and Owner of “Shimmer Up Sis” lip gloss line, “Shimmer Up Sis” whipped shea butter for women, “Bae You Smell Good” men’s whipped body butter, along with her most important cosmetic line, “Forever Maria Minks” honorably named after her late mother, Maria Ward.
In 2022
Her resume now includes being a full-time journalist at Hood Politics Magazine. Reds Johnson is a Jill of all trades! Her books span many genres, including: Urban, Romance, Erotica, BBW, and YA, with each title being just as intriguing as the next. Her stories are shockingly real and cleverly written, and it has been said by her readers that her words ‘jump right off the page’. With a multitude of opportunities at her feet, Reds will continue to use her voice to inspire young women in her new mentorship program designed to heal, educate, and affirm girls in their teens. Her works of fiction are in high demand as she completes some of her readers’ favorite series while also creating and finding new ways to incorporate worthy and innovative storylines.
